These shortcuts work on any page where the Page Analytics extension is active.
| Action | Mac | Windows / Linux |
|---|---|---|
| Toggle sidebar | Cmd+Shift+S | Ctrl+Shift+S |
| Toggle heatmap | Cmd+Shift+E | Ctrl+Shift+E |
| Close sidebar | Esc | |
| Open extension popup | Cmd+Shift+U | Ctrl+Shift+U |
Shortcuts are on by default. Turn them off in your account settings under "Keyboard Shortcuts."
When off, none of the shortcuts above will fire. The Esc key keeps working normally for other browser functions.
The popup shortcut (Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+U) is a Chrome browser-level shortcut. You can change it at chrome://extensions/shortcuts.
Esc only closes the sidebar when no input field on the page has focus, so it won't get in the way of forms or text editing.
If a shortcut doesn't respond, check these common causes:
Shortcuts may be turned off. Check settings.
The extension only activates on sites connected to your Google Analytics account.
Another extension may be using the same key combination. Check chrome://extensions/shortcuts for conflicts.
Some web apps capture keyboard events before the extension can respond.
Change the popup shortcut at chrome://extensions/shortcuts. Look for the "Activate the extension" binding under Page Analytics.
